Took off the gauze today, since it was mainly to keep hand clean in case the steri-strips weren't enough to keep it from bleeding. A little bit of blood, but nothing more than any other serious cut I've had. Stitches would probably have been neater and left less of a scar, but meh. It can keep the chemical burn scar company.

I actually called my mom last night to get her opinion, because she has a pretty strong medical/nursing background. She told me to keep an eye out for it being swollen or oozing pus or any red lines coming from the injury. I'm not seeing any of that, so that's good. There was some concern about tetanus, since I don't remember my last shot (I want to say it was at Hartwick). But it's sore, but seems to be clean, so I think I'm OK. Gonna keep the steri-strips on for a few days, try to keep the area dry, and let Dan worry about the dishes :)

I've lost my academic focus, I've lost friends, lovers, my sense of home, any sense of purpose or direction, hope for the future. I'm utterly broke, and Sarisa is gone until Wednesday.

And now I just got a call from my mother - my father was just admitted to the ER with bilateral pneumonia.
